Goodbye summer!

Thu Aug 21, 2008, 1:23 PM
Yay, finally a new deviation! Nothing fancy, but still.

I haven't had much reason to update my journal, or my gallery for that matter, earlier this summer. I've spent most of my time working at a local supermarket, which is rather uninspiring creativity-wise. But now-! Tomorrow I'm exactly one week away from my first day at the art school I'm attending for two years. I don't know what to expect, but I am surprisingly optimistic.
I can feel myself getting eager to create again (= relief). No more apathy for me! :D

Also, I'm (or my boyfriend is...) working on my own website, dedicated to my "art" (or whatever you want to call it...). Not sure exactly when it will be up yet - we'll see.

Hope everyone reading has had a great summer this year!

Wooow

Tue May 20, 2008, 8:44 AM
I got in!! :D

My face is going to explode if I don't stop smiling!

I got a phone call from one of the teachers just a minute ago. That took ONE week. Amazing :p
Damn, I love this school!

Ahh! Bliss!

I need to get it out of my system...

Wow. I actually haven't updated my journal since October, when I quit school (gosh, I quit school! :p)

Well, the thing is that my year off is coming to an end. Well, hopefully. I sent my application for a (or -the-) school today. Very scary! This school was like my second choice last year (unfortunately not the first). It seems to be a lot more suitable for me. The first year of it approaches art in every form (/generally), while the second year I'll study Drawing/Illustration or Painting. HOPEFULLY.

Making this so "public" now, will make it even worse to be rejected :p - so please!!
I'll hear from them in June, sometime... jikes.

There are sooo many reasons why I think this school is a better alternative to the previous school I attempted to attend. Don't even get me started... ^^

Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed. And my sanity intact (until June...).

And again, I want to thank every supporter out there! You're the best! :boogie:

- Also, I need to showcase Miss Pauline Aubey's amazing talent and style through this beautiful portrait she did of me recently: [link]

Thank you so much again! :D

Unexpected choices

Wed Oct 24, 2007, 11:32 AM
To make a long story short (I usually make short stories long, so be grateful!):

Today I finally realised that I am not happy with my choice of studying illustration at this particular school I'm attending at the moment. I think I simply need a year off, working, before I can start on anything new.
It does not mean that I'm letting go of my talent and joy of drawing (which my parents are scared to death about right now...) - I'm simply taking some time off to let myself figure out what to do with it. I'll also have more time to explore all the things I want to explore when it comes to drawing and painting.

It was by chance that I figured that out today. I didn't expect that at all! :p Shocking - haha!

- And I'm excited! So I won't doubt myself on this one. Not at all.

Paaaint!

I have been cleaning up my galley a bit - moving half-baked work over to scraps, and deleting totally meaningless scraps as well. That feels pretty darn good. :p

I feel super inspired right now. I want to give painting another go - Hopefully I'll get the chance soon...
The reason why I haven't done much drawing in a while, I think, is because I am a tiny bit bored with my own work. I want to do more than copying, and I want to try out different styles.

- But right now I am chained to the task of making a children's book. "Woopie!"
